The MANN-FILTER global presence

International filtration expert MANN+HUMMEL will be represented at the second largest trade fair for the automotive aftermarket, Automechanika Shanghai, with the focus on new and innovative MANN-FILTER products.

China is a strategic growth market for MANN+HUMMEL. With production facilities in Changchun, Shanghai, Jinan, Liuzhou and Bengbu, MANN+HUMMEL provides cutting-edge filtration technology for the automotive OE and aftermarket sectors in China. The filtration specialist meets customers’ requirements in the independent aftermarket with the OE-quality MANN-FILTER product portfolio.

Award presented for innovative filtration technology

MANN-FILTER products are not only available around the world, they are also exhibited at leading international trade fairs. In Shanghai, the company is presenting innovative MANN-FILTER products for the independent aftermarket. These include, for example, cabin filters which effectively reduce concentrations of fine dust particles. These particles, just 2.5 microns (µm) in diameter at maximum, represent a risk to health which should be taken seriously, as they can enter the lungs. The MANN-FILTER portfolio also includes cabin filters containing a nano-fiber layer. By removing virtually all the tiny fine dust particles from the intake air, such filter media thus make an important contribution to protect the health of the vehicle occupants.

This year, MANN+HUMMEL received the ‘Technical Innovation Award’ for fine dust filtration technology. The prize was awarded by the Chinese trade magazine ‘Automobile & Parts’, together with Tongji University Automotive Institute and Shanghai International Corporation Association.

Sustained successful business development

China is a market with ongoing dynamism and opportunities for growth and forms an important part of the MANN+HUMMEL expansion strategy. ‘Our business in China has grown thirty-fold over the last 10 years. It is our aim to continue this German-Chinese success story and increase the Asian share of Group sales from 18% at present to 25% by 2018. By that year, our Group sales should increase to at least 3.4 billion Euro’, says Sigfrid Steiner, Group Vice President & General Manager, Automotive Aftermarket.

The positive business trend and increasing market share confirm the great success of the strategic direction pursued by MANN+HUMMEL in the Chinese market. The reasons for MANN+HUMMEL’s success include proximity to customers, impressive product quality and an excellent range of services, success which is also reflected in the many Best Supplier Awards presented by well-known automotive customers.
